Podcast: (re)connecting with yourself through breathing with Christophe Sibilat
Christophe Sibilat is one of those people who seem to have lived a thousand lives. From dancer at the Paris Opera to tour guide in the Sinai desert, his path to sophrology hardly seemed mapped out from the start.
And yet, during his last job in aviation, Christophe realized he was no longer aligned with his true self.
He used a career break to take some time for himself and explore sophrology.
This is what allowed him to realign with himself and reconnect with what he loves: passing on knowledge.
Today, Christophe shares the keys to understanding breathing techniques, including Breathwork, a powerful therapeutic tool that can lead to an altered state of consciousness. He talks about its benefits for tackling stress and anxiety and for releasing emotional blockages and trauma. Finally, Christophe shares his well-being rituals for realigning body, mind and soul every day.
Warning: As Christophe points out, certain techniques such as shortened holotropic breathing should not be practiced at home, and especially not in the bath. All forms of conscious breathing that lead to an altered state of consciousness are strongly discouraged for pregnant women, people with a history of epilepsy or schizophrenia, people who have had recent surgery that has not yet healed, people with glaucoma or a detached retina, people with respiratory problems and people who have recently had a stroke.
