In the heart of the Mediterranean, the Grand-Hôtel du Cap-Ferrat cultivates the art of hospitality with rare elegance.
Awena Studio shares this same vision: one where design, softness and well-being become a true art of living.
When we contacted the Hotel to develop a unique collection of accessories for its new outdoor zen space, the collaboration came about naturally, fluidly, inspired.
Needs of the Grand Hotel
Create a zen outdoor space
The Grand-Hôtel wanted to offer its guests outdoor meditation and yoga sessions, in harmony with the beauty of its gardens.
The brief was clear:
- develop high-end outdoor pieces (bolsters, zafus, berlingots, pillows);
- imagine a universe that is both aesthetic, sustainable and adapted to the zen space of the Hotel;
- to provide impeccable comfort, in keeping with the Grand-Hôtel's standards.
We also suggested adding an extra touch of softness: a collection of eye pillows, to perfect relaxation rituals.
Inspiration
Capturing the soul of the Mediterranean
To create a unified whole that engages with the location, we imagined three chromatic universes inspired by Cap-Ferrat:
🌊Mediterranean escape: creamy white, azure and golden sand
🌿Serenity & well-being: sage green, soft beige, pearl grey
🧘♀️Nature & authenticity: terracotta, natural linen, olive green
Each color palette was designed to complement the architectural lines of the Hotel, its centuries-old gardens and the softness of the Mediterranean light.
Choice of materials
Sustainability, harmony & comfort
We have selected materials capable of withstanding sun, sea wind and inclement weather, without ever compromising comfort. UV and weather resistant outdoor fabrics
- Removable and washable covers
- Stuffed with spelt hulls, which naturally conforms to the body
- A harmonious choice, designed to last and to offer Grand-Hôtel guests an incomparable sensory experience.
Final result
A haven of tranquility for zen practices
The cushions now take their place in the zen area of the Grand-Hôtel gardens, surrounded by greenery, facing the sea.
They accompany every breath, every movement, every moment of calm. They extend the experience of the place: a simple, authentic luxury that touches and soothes.
This collaboration embodies what we love to create: objects that tell a story and enhance a space, while taking care of bodies and emotions.
